Cassiopeia A Timeline

The Cassiopeia A Timeline tells the story of the death of a giant star. It is written from a historical perspective, interwoven with the progression of astronomy-related events and technology that have given us the knowledge we have about stellar evolution. The timeline links and images are meant to provide interdisciplinary connections to the lives of the stars. Teachers of all disciplines are encouraged to interject the exciting astronomical phenomena of supernovas explosions into their classrooms. Enjoy the journey!

Navigation directions: Click on a timeline image to bring up a pop-up window with a full-size image and corresponding url for more information. The pop-up window should be kept on the side of your main web browser window (so the two windows are side-by-side as shown in the diagram).
