	Q&A: Chandra Mission

            Q:
What is the most distant object Chandra can see, and what type
               of object is it?

               A:
The most distant objects detected by Chandra so far are quasars.
The X-rays we see from these objects left the objects about 13
billion years ago, when then age of the universe was a little
over a billion years, and was about one-sixth of its present
               size.
