	Q&A: Chandra Mission

            Q:
What is the temperature of the focal plane?

               A:
The focal plane is kept between minus 100 degrees C and minus
120 degrees C when the ACIS is at the focus. When the HRC is at
the focus, the temperature is kept at about 20 degrees C.
