During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 7 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. A Chandra image release was issued on Oct 8 to commemorate American Archive Month. A collection of six new images from the Chandra archive were released. These highlight how archives like those of Chandra and other major observatories will enable future exploration and research. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2015/archives/ The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of PHAT B18 coordinated with NuSTAR, and of V5668 Sgr, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Oct 5. |
