Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 22 October 2010 9.00am EDT

During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include two 7 ks observation of the source Aql X-1 that were accepted as Targets of Opportunity on Oct 15. Scheduled observations of HFPK 334 and 3C 93.1 were impacted by the TOO and will be rescheduled in a later load.

A real-time procedure was executed on Oct 17 to dump a region of OBC memory as part of a test of a new software interface to the Deep-Space Network. A second real-time procedure was executed on Oct 21 to update the on-board ephemeris.

The Einstein Fellows Symposium was held on Oct 19-20. Presentations were made by the 27 current Fellows, covering a wide range of topics in observational and theoretical astrophysics research.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes a follow-up TOO observation of Aql X-1 and DDT observations of XTE J1810-197 and the Crab.
