           Friday 1 August 2025 9.00am EDT
During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Preparations were completed for the summer 2025 eclipse season; the season contains nine eclipses and runs from Jul 30 to Aug 20. Real-time procedures were executed on Jul 29 to prepare for the first eclipse: one to activate SCS 29 and one to dump and clear the EPS glitch counters. Chandra passed through the first eclipse of the season on Jul 30, with nominal power and thermal performance. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of EP250702a, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jul 15, and an observation of Sgr A* coordinated with JWST. |
