Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 7 June 2024 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Real-time procedures were executed on Jun 5 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE).

An additional real-time procedure was executed on Jun 5 to determine new values for the HRC-I high-voltage ramp-up steps. The new voltage compensates for an expected decrease in HRC-I gain over the course of the mission.

Of note this week was the release on Jun 6 of the CalDB version 4.11.2. The CalDB update includes an HRC-I MEAN QE file set upgrade to version N0015. https://cxc.cfa.harvard.edu/caldb/downloads/Release_notes/CALDB_v4.11.2.html

Also of note this week was the second announcement of the symposium "25 Years of Science with Chandra", to be held in Boston December 3-6, 2024. https://cxc.cfa.harvard.edu/cdo/symposium_2024

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SDSS J163810.07+1151 coordinated with HET, an observation of SS 433 coordinated with Swift and an observation of EP240414a which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on May 16.
