Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 9 April 2021 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Apr 6 to reconfigure the battery reconditioning resistors for batteries 1 and 2 in order to restore trickle charging currents to their nominal range and to compensate for decreasing solar panel efficiency. Also on Apr 6 real-time procedures were executed to patch the EPS fault detection logic to match the battery charging configuration, and to perform a dump of the IU-A EEPROM and diagnostic memory dumps of the Command and Telemetry Unit (CTU) EEPROMs. Real-time procedures were executed on Apr 6, Apr 7, and Apr 8 to dump OBC-A and -B memory as a follow-up to the flight software patch earlier on Apr 6. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory images maintained on the ground.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes observations of AT2020xnd, which are follow-ups to a Target of Opportunity accepted on on Oct 26, 2020 and are coordinated with NuSTAR, an observation of ASASSN-20h, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Mar 30, observations of SgrA* and M87 coordinated with the Event Horizon Telescope, and observations of NGC1365 coordinated with NuSTAR.
