March's Mission Madness

You may have noticed that NASA is running an event mirroring the annual extravaganza that is the NCAA basketball tournament. Instead of selecting the basketball teams you think will win (I'm rooting for a certain Big 10 team myself), you vote for your favorite NASA mission.

Now, here's where we'd like to vent a bit: Chandra itself is not one of the 64 teams. We're not sure how that's possible, but it is what it is for this year. However, the silver lining is that STS-93 – the Space Shuttle mission that launched and deployed Chandra in 1999 – is one of the missions in the contest. So if you feel like we do and want through cast your vote (albeit a little indirectly) for Chandra, we suggest you click on STS-93 in the "Galaxy" bracket of NASA's Mission Madness.
