Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 29 August 2003 9.30am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

The Avionics and Software Validation Test Set (ASVT) arrived at the OCC on 24 Aug and was unloaded and set-up by the West Coast team without incident. Checkout of the system and training is proceeding on schedule this week.

Testing is complete for a flight software patch that will modify the threshold criteria for triggering science instrument safing under high radiation conditions. The change is expected to significantly reduce the number of unwanted triggers just prior to radiation belt entry. The patch is planned for uplink on 2 Sept.

The observing schedule for next week is shown below and includes a series of 21 calibration observations of AR Lac.
