Operations CXO Status Report

Sunday 19 September 1999 6.00am EST

During the last 24 hours the ACIS diagnostic load was run successfully on Chandra and a series of tests performed with the focal plane at -60 deg C. Prior to the ACIS tests, a series of HRC calibration observations were completed of the Pleadies.

At 2:05PM 9/19 the spacecraft entered a 51 minute eclipse and exited at 2:56PM 9/19 without any problems. Real-time data comparisons with power system predictions were within expectations and the communications pass was extended to allow monitoring of the battery disconnect.

The remainder of the current load will include the first of the GTO observations which will begin following radiation zone exit at 10PM 9/19 and follow a post belt ACIS calibration measurement.
