Operations CXO Status Report

Thursday 19 August 1999 7.00am EST

The following is an overview of the events that occurred over the last 24 hours.

On-site Operations personnel, and members of the Technical Support Team and factory support team completed Safemode recovery procedure review and test. Safemode recovery was initiated at 1:30pm EDT Wednesday and was successfully completed about 10:20 pm. Chandra was commanded back to A-side hardware, and Pointing control was transferred from the Command Processing Electronics (CPE) Assemble to the On-Board Computer (OBC) A. OCC personnel are in the process of performing cleanup activities including; moving the SIM back to the ACIS-S position, and re-establishing attitude knowledge. This activity is continuing as planned, based on Deep Space Network ground station availability. Activities for next 24 hours: Re-establish configuration for mission operation, and resume science observations.
